As of today - I am still waiting on a response from paypal. I have received the "subordination" letter from the Red Cross and have supplied that letter to paypal. They are in the process of reviewing everything, and I will start to announce winners when I get the final go ahead that the funds will be released to the Red Cross. I do not want to announce any winners until I am 100% sure that the money will be released. Paypal has given me two options... I can wait for the account to continue through with the review or I can refund the money to each and every single donor. I have chosen to go through with the review. If for whatever reason I need to end up refunding the money to everyone, I don't want to tell some people that they have won a prize, only to have to retract the prize..... so for now, more waiting.
I apologize for this huge inconvenience. This has been a huge learning experience for me, and I feel that God has definetly used this experience to teach me many lessons on patience. Anyone reading this, just please know that paypal does consider any type of raffle a violation of their user agreement, and if you get caught, they will freeze your account and you will have to jump through many many many hoops to return it to regular standing.
I will continue to update you as I get updates, and again I apologize. This is certainly not the way that I wanted to end this wonderful fundraiser, and I am trusting God that he will reach through the red tape at paypal and find someone who is willing to respond quickly and compassionately.

Don't worry about it. You are doing an amazing thing and I'm sure that I can speak for everyone who donated when I say that we all gave to help the people in Haiti -- the prizes were just a fun perk.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry you are going through this. I am proud of your attitude.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! Hang in there...don't be discouraged, the money will get there...and they will need it even in the coming months. Like you said, the good news is that you know now and can teach others from your lessons. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. I'm sorry this as been so hard. We'll just pray.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a great thing. Don't get weary in good doing, babe.
I agree and will be praying for a quick resolution to benefit Haiti... Who knew raffles were against PayPal policy? Live and learn, I guess!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry; you're doing great. I doubt anyone minds waiting for the winner list.
ReplyDeleteNow I know what that saying means, "No good deed goes unpunished" or something like that. You did the RIGHT thing and it was a huge undertaking, lots of fun, and for an awesome cause. I hate that you're having all these problems. You're precious and HE knows what's in your heart and you will be blessed so many times over for this, I know it. Take care and keep your chin up ~ ♥

ReplyDeleteI would still like to offer Affordable Mineral Makeup™ to one person who entered my drawing, even if paypal ends up asking you to return everyone's money. And if you have to return mine, I'll just make a direct donation to an organization funding Haiti relief, so the money will eventually get there one way or another. I would imagine most here would do the same and it was your efforts that prompted us all to get involved! {{{Thank you!}}} Just sad for all the frustration and headache you have endured.
Since I'm not in your shoes, I can't feel the pinch, but I'm a fellow shoe wearer and I care. I can't wait to hear the story of how God redeems it all down the road you're walking!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I *love* that expression! Can I borrow it sometime???
