Update from Paypal

Important Information from PayPal:
Saturday afternoon I received the following email from paypal:

Paypal is considering the selling of "raffle tickets" to be a violation of their user agreement, which strongly enforces a "no gambling" policy.  They have asked me to remove any and all instances of where I am using paypal.  This would include all of the chipin widgets that are keeping a running total of how much has been donated for each raffle.

So what am I going to do?

The answer is simple.  I am ending all chipin widgets as per paypal's request, and am adding a google checkout button.  This does not change any other information about the raffles.  All donations are accounted for, all information is accounted for... nothing has changed except that I am now using something other than paypal to allow people to continue to donate (via Google Checkout).  I realize that not everyone might have a google checkout account as readily as they do a paypal account, and I would encourage you to register for one, it is quick, simple, and free, and behaves the same way as paypal would when it comes to secure transactions.

Hi, I'm glad you are here. My name is Jenny Buttler and I own Simply Delightful Designs, a small-ish website and blog design company. I live in Corpus Christi, and I am a mother of three. I created this website very quickly today in hopes of spreading hope. I have been a big follower of Compassion.org and have read about missions that other bloggers have taken and have always been so touched.

When I heard about the recent earthquake in Haiti, I cringed. I knew that there were many Americans down there right now volunteering. I lay in bed last night wondering if there was anything that I could do to help, even in a small way and God gave me the idea for this website.  It may not be much, and I'm not sure how successful any of this will be - but when you have nothing, a little bit can mean a lot!

All money raised from the raffles on this website will be donated to two organizations - The American Red Cross and Compassion.org. These are two organizations that are very close to my heart and I hope that you can and will take part in what I hope will be a very exciting and heart-warming fundraiser.

I am in the middle of getting items and/or services donated, and each item will be listed individually. To purchase a raffle ticket, simply click the link at the end of the raffle description.
