    First donation made!

    I just wanted to post an update, that I made the first of what looks like will have to be multiple donations. Because the money is in a paypal account, paypal only allows me (for whatever reason??) to spend $1000.00 a day. So I will just split the donations up into four days - here is the first one thousand dollar donation that WE made to the red cross!

    This is page one - I had to take two screen shots:

    And here is page two - I blocked out my private information:

    you should be able to click on the images to get the larger picture.
    And I just to remind you who exactly you are helping:

    Psalm 46

    1 God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
    3 though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.
    4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
    5 God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
    6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
    7 The LORD Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.
    8 Come and see the works of the LORD,
    the desolations he has brought on the earth.
    9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
    he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
    he burns the shields [b] with fire.
    10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth."
    11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.

    God has answered prayers.....  paypal has cleared the account and the grand total that we raised is an official....

    $4606.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hope is on the way Haiti! Paypal has released the hold!!! The account is clear and we will start listing winners TODAY!!  It will take me a while to get through each raffle and post each winner, so please be patient!!  If you have donated, thank you.  If you have prayed, thank you!!
    This has been an incredible learning experience for me, and I hope that you will continue to donate to charities who are helping the people in Haiti who have been affected by this disaster.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, or are a winner, and are not sure what to do - please contact me at jenny@simplydelightfuldesigns.com

    Again, thank you!!

    Update on paypal situation

    As of today - I am still waiting on a response from paypal. I have received the "subordination" letter from the Red Cross and have supplied that letter to paypal. They are in the process of reviewing everything, and I will start to announce winners when I get the final go ahead that the funds will be released to the Red Cross. I do not want to announce any winners until I am 100% sure that the money will be released. Paypal has given me two options... I can wait for the account to continue through with the review or I can refund the money to each and every single donor. I have chosen to go through with the review. If for whatever reason I need to end up refunding the money to everyone, I don't want to tell some people that they have won a prize, only to have to retract the prize..... so for now, more waiting.

    I apologize for this huge inconvenience. This has been a huge learning experience for me, and I feel that God has definetly used this experience to teach me many lessons on patience. Anyone reading this, just please know that paypal does consider any type of raffle a violation of their user agreement, and if you get caught, they will freeze your account and you will have to jump through many many many hoops to return it to regular standing.

    I will continue to update you as I get updates, and again I apologize. This is certainly not the way that I wanted to end this wonderful fundraiser, and I am trusting God that he will reach through the red tape at paypal and find someone who is willing to respond quickly and compassionately.

    Raffles Have Ended

    I want to thank everyone who has donated... both the donors of the prizes, and all the amazing people who have purchased raffle tickets! I am going to spend the weekend counting tickets, and sorting into the proper raffles and begin drawing names for the raffle.

    I also have to supply paypal and google with a "subordination" letter from the American Red Cross, which means that the Red Cross is aware that I have done fundraising for them and that they are expecting a donation. I should receive this letter by Monday to send to paypal. Once supplied to paypal, paypal will then release the funds to the Red Cross. I will post back later today the final donation amount.... It's pretty big... far more than I EVER expected.

    Again, thank you to each and every one of you who has made this small little effort a HUGE HUGE HUGE success. I will be posting the winners here, but I will also email you if you have won anything. Please contact me at jenny@simplydelightfuldesigns.com if you have any questions.

    Thanks and again!

    Update from Paypal

    Important Information from PayPal:
    Saturday afternoon I received the following email from paypal:

    Paypal is considering the selling of "raffle tickets" to be a violation of their user agreement, which strongly enforces a "no gambling" policy.  They have asked me to remove any and all instances of where I am using paypal.  This would include all of the chipin widgets that are keeping a running total of how much has been donated for each raffle.

    So what am I going to do?
    The answer is simple.  I am ending all chipin widgets as per paypal's request, and am adding a google checkout button.  This does not change any other information about the raffles.  All donations are accounted for, all information is accounted for... nothing has changed except that I am now using something other than paypal to allow people to continue to donate (via Google Checkout).  I realize that not everyone might have a google checkout account as readily as they do a paypal account, and I would encourage you to register for one, it is quick, simple, and free, and behaves the same way as paypal would when it comes to secure transactions.

    If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at jenny@simplydelightfuldesigns.com and I will respond immediately.  Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as I work through paypal's request to end the chipin widgets and switch each raffle over to google checkout.

    family second, and career third, that the commissions come directly from Mary Kay's profits and not your team members, that they backed all of their products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee where the company itself and not the consultant replaces the product, and that it was just $100 to start, she was sold.

    2 Tickets to a 2010 Women of Faith Conference Event

    THE WINNER OF THIS RAFFLE IS:
    KAYLA ROSS
    THE DONOR WILL BE CONTACTING YOU!

     is donating TWO tickets at ANY Women of Faith event in 2010!!! This amazing Christian conference is a 2-day event where women join together to experience music, comedy, drama and inspirational stories that leave a powerful, lasting mark on the lives of the women who participate.
    Women of Faith has been going strong since 1996 and has a proven track record as the Nation’s Largest Women’s Conference.  Registrations sell quickly and well in advance of the event. Tickets to any even can be ordered on www.womenoffaith.com or by calling 888-49-FAITH.

    Who Are They?
    Women of Faith is a faith-based women’s organization encouraging women of all ages and stages in life to grow in faith and spiritual maturity through a relationship with Jesus Christ and an understanding of God’s love and grace.

    Refreshment
    Imagine getting together with your closest girlfriends for a weekend. Think of the laughter you’d share, the tears you’d shed, the FUN you’d have. Now multiply that by 10,000 or so. You’re starting to get the idea.
    Reality without Reproach
    We’re not perfect. We don’t expect you to be perfect, either. Our speakers are real women who share stories from their real lives. We’re here to encourage women, not to condemn anyone. Even those who have never set foot in a church feel comfortable at our conferences. You can check your mask at the door. You’re welcome just as you are.

    Relationships
    Connecting with God and with each other. At Women of Faith we believe that God loves you – no matter what your situation in life may be. We also believe that He wants a personal relationship with you. Through our conferences, more than 150,000 women have indicated decisions to start or renew that relationship. Relationships with each other are important, too. At a Women of Faith conference you’ll have the chance to connect with other women – even if you go there alone!

    Over the course of the conference, you’ll have the opportunity to:
    • Renew your spirit with messages of hope and humor from the Women of Faith speaker team
    • Recharge your spiritual batteries with drama that tickles your funny bone and touches your heart (at the same time!)
    • Rejoice with music from top Christian music artists
    • Reconnect with God and each other as the WOF worship team leads an arena full of women in praise to God
    • Revitalize your life with resources that will help keep the conference experience alive all year
    • Relax in the comforting knowledge that God loves you – right where you are!
